I love brussels sprouts recipes. Over the holidays, I always wind up making them in some way or another, like Easy Smashed Brussels Sprouts or Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts Salad.

One of my favorite ways to enjoy them is in this recipe. The combination of sweet honey and spicy sriracha complements the natural nutty flavor of the sprouts so well.

📅 When is brussels sprouts season?

Peak season in the United States is from September to mid-February, but you can easily find them year-round. They’re perfect for the holiday season especially!

How to Prepare Brussels Sprouts

Start by cleaning and cutting your sprouts before oven roasting them. It’s easy to do in just a few minutes!

How to Clean Brussels Sprouts

  1. Wash your hands. Place sprouts in a colander and rinse under cold running water. Do not use hot water, or your sprouts will wilt.
  2. With the water running, use your fingers to rub the sprouts to dislodge and clean them of any dirt.

How to Cut Brussels Sprouts

  1. Wash your sprouts first, then cut off the nubby stem at the end of each sprout. Don’t cut too far up the sprout, or you’ll loosen the leaves.
  2. Peel off any blemished, discolored, or wilted outer leaves.
  3. Slice your sprouts in half.

⭐ Family Foodie Tips

  • Use a large baking sheet so the sprouts don’t crowd together! Spreading them out more allows them to crisp up.
  • Clean and cut your sprouts. Don’t skip this step! This will give you much better results roasting brussels sprouts.
  • Bright green sprouts without any wilted leaves are going to taste the best.
  • You want all of your sprouts to be relatively the same size, but the smaller sprouts will have a more naturally sweet flavor.

👪 How many people does this recipe serve?

Our recipe creates about 4 servings, but can be easily doubled to serve more people.

To double this recipe, double the ingredients and use two baking trays, with one tray placed higher in the oven and the other lower. Halfway through the baking time, swap the trays.

🥗 What to serve with Brussel Sprouts

They’re also a perfect choice for a special occasion dinner like Easter or just as a side dish for Sunday Supper.
